11th
report from US
First of all, thank you for all your cheers. Your good wishes and trust
mean a world to Marko.
Our hero who has battled the elements of nature and highways full of
huge trucks, has been released from the hospital with a slightly less
painfull behind. He received several syringes and blood thining serum
for his return trip. He still feels like his chest is being squeezed,
but on a light note he is really being huged and squeezed by his happy
wife Irma. His team also feels more than relieved knowing he is going
to be OK. While Marko and Irma are resting before returning to Slovenia,
the rest of the team has received a much deserved time off. They are
having fun and spending time shopping american style.
We have to mention Markos excellent team again. They are absolutely
the best people one could wish to have as a part of the team. Many thanks
to Vanda Pagon, Slavko Zelezen, Blaz Habic, Borut Strel, Reinhard Schroeder
and wife Irma Baloh. Thank you again girls and boys for you are the
best.
Mare had been granted his big wish yesterday. He managed to see the
last few minutes of the closing ceremony and say hello to his competitors.
The ceremony took place on a beautiful Boulevard Road in Atlantic City.
There was also a commemoration ceremony for killed team racer Malin.
Everybody cheered when Slovene racer Jure Robic was awarded for his
second place. First was Allen Larsen and third Rob Kish.
As soon as Mare arrives home he is going to have to check back into
the hospital. But the memories are here to stay and all is well that
ends well.
Mare and his excellent team are returning to Slovenia this weekend.
They are likely to arrive on the same airplane as Jure Robic team.
THEY WILL LAND IN BRNIK THIS SUNDAY AT 11.30 am SLOVENE TIME. YOU ARE
INVITED TO WELCOME THEM BACK!
