6th report from US

Marko has reached the american state of cowboys and big gallon hats, Texas. He has conquered over one third of the course. Which means he has left in the dust about 1150 miles. Even though he is fighting a battle with a really bad infection on his behind, he is constantly among top 5 racers. The team helps him ease his infection as much as they can. He is being handed medications, preparations and constant change of clothes. Unfortunatelly, these kind of infections are the worst enemy of any bicycle racer rear.
Allen Larsen, still in the pole position, has a big lead. In the meantime there is a huge battle for the second place among the next 5 racers. But there is a long way to go or as the veteran racers say, the real battle begins once Mississippi has been crossed.
Marko and his team are very tired which does not lessen their determination to get to the top.
We have previously reported dangerous highways full of trucks. There has been a tragedy. Brett Malin of Team Vail - Go Fast has been hit by an 18 wheeler in New Mexico today. This is the first fatility in 21 years of history of this race. He will be greatly missed.
